Why We Created City Stated Threads: Apparel for the Cities You Love

Represent Your City With Style

If you’ve ever searched for city abbreviation apparel that proudly represents your Texas city, you may have noticed something: some Texas cities using abbreviations ending in TX like Austin (ATX) and Houston (HTX) are easier to find, but what about other cities using this similar abbreviation?

Living in Central Texas, we saw firsthand how tourism boards, businesses and people from various cities were using city abbreviations ending in TX. For example, El Paso (EPTX) has 806K hashtag shares and Fort Worth (FWTX) has 121K on Instagramyet apparel featuring these city abbreviations is scarce or non-existent. And most of the existing options are more informal—which means that they are likely only used at home or very casual settings.

That’s where City Stated Threads comes in. We wanted to create a stylish, understated way for people to represent those Texas cities—so people can showcase their hometown, favorite travel spot, or the place that shaped them—whether it's a major metro or small city. If the city is using a TX abbreviation, we want to include them.

Why City Abbreviations Matter

City abbreviations ending in TX aren’t just short forms of a name; they’ve become modern symbols of local pride—a statement. People use them as hashtags, in business names, and personal branding to connect with their community. We want to bring that same authentic city representation to high-quality, stylish apparel that is available in trendy colors and typographymaking it easy to fit into everyday outfits.

Bringing More Cities to the Spotlight
